Inconsistent BT connection to MX+?

Yesterday I got into my car and the MX+ didn't automatically connect, so my trip wasn't logged. I checked when I got home and the BT connection just said "connecting" and never did. This morning I unplugged the unit and plugged it back in and the MX+ connected fine. I know it's not app specific, but I wonder if you can check for that error state where the device is present since iOS is attempting connection. Once I got the connection reset, another successful trip recording this morning.

That would be a great feature, something like a right light/green light indicator for OBD connection.

A few comments on connection. I have seen occasional times when the MX+ doesn’t respond to the reset commend and needs to be unplugged and replugged in. To make it easy for you to detect this you have the following clues:

1. Make sure notifications are enabled since there is a notification sent on connects and again on the start of a trip/charge. You should hear an alert or a vibration on the phone to give confidence it connected.
2. There is a visible confirmation in the app as well if you didn’t notice the notifications. If you are on the Trips/Charges/Settings tab, the toolbar will have a blue icon on the top left when connected, this changes to a flashing red icon when the trip/charge is being logged.
3. If you have Live Activities enabled, the lock screen and Dynamic Island should show when a trip/charge is being logged.

Finally, if it does fail, the log is the best way to see what led up to the failure. Settings.Debugger, it logs all error and connection events but enable the packets and info filters to see more detailed events. Sending the log helps see where something is amiss.

I will definitely look for #2 next time I go for a drive. My first time using it I got maybe 10 to 12 Connected/Disconnected notifications coming in relatively rapid succession. I was busy driving, so I didn't look at them until I got to the destination. Did the unplug/plug in trick before driving home. Have had no problems since then.

I would worry about other apps or Bluetooth interference causing multiple disconnects since Pankuzu never disconnects on its own but drops the connection when the iOS BT software says the accessory disconnected, typically when you walk away from the vehicle.
