Paste not working correctly in IDE

When I copy some text within the IDE (via ctrl + C), Paste (ctrl + V) always writes it to the top line no matter where the cursor is.
If I copy text from outside the IDE, and then paste, it goes where I expect it to go.

Also, if I use the Edit menu Copy/Paste - no paste occurs.

I can confirm this also under Windows 11 and JIF 3.7
