`name-replacements` - prefer abbreviation‽ The variable `repository` should be named `repo`

Intentional. The rule isn't "prevent abbreviations" anymore, it's name-replacements. repo is the more common and idiomatic name here, so it's the preferred one, exactly like app over application.

Seems like a departure from the notion of that all of those abbreviations are indeed the most common and idiomatic versions, "but should be avoided." This applies to basically all, like rel, props, attr, ... that not only are common but are part of the platform APIs.

I get that it's no longer called "prevent abbreviation" but it's weird to go backwards and now "prefer abbreviation"

The line isnt "common in code" it's whether the short form became a real word. Plenty have: app, repo, blog, demo, info, photo, fax. Nobody expands those in their head, you say them out loud, and theyre in dictionaries.

attr, rel, and props haven't. You never pronounce them and they still read as truncations. Being a platform API token just makes it frequent (el, idx, len are everywhere too), not a word.

So its not "prefer abbreviation," it's prefer the idiomatic name, and once in a while that name is the one that became a word. repo is with app. "props" is still just clipped "properties".

These are not facts though. This whole ocnfig is just my opinions influenced by other devs using it.

I meeeeeean, by what definition? "prop" meaning "property" appears in the dictionary but "repo" meaning "repository" does not. Arguably prop is more of "a word" than repo. Even arg/args is far more common (and a word) but the config prefers the ugly arguments_
