Compete against

(1) the iOS-exclusive college confessions app (Sidechat?) by offering anonymous confessions like https://github.com/gabrc52/swolent-tim/blob/main/confessions.ts

(2) can also phase out '25 and '26 confessions channels or promote Uplink confessions in there too... since I did the confession bot too, I could port it to Matrix

(3) MIT confessions Facebook page -- Sidechat proves there is demand for nonpublic confessions and we could do without Facebook, ahem, Meta

Sidechat is paying people so much money. We can't let them win. MIT confessions is not posting confessions for IAP, and Sidechat is the only remaining MIT-wide confession place. We should definitely have an (opt-in, but public and discoverable) confessions channel

I'm clearly mad at Sidechat and bumping this issue to priority 1

Realistically, P2 makes sense. It doesn't block launch, and it would be too overwhelming to launch with too many features or things. So we can dormspam MIT Matrix one time, and one week later dormspam that MIT Matrix offers confessions too through a dedicated channel room.

Sidechat's apparent success is inflated by all the paid people, and even then, if we launch by the end of IAP, MIT confessions will be back as well.

No one cares about Sidechat. It is basically dead. Anonymous confessions are a logistical nightmare. I do agree it would be a draw for people to get into Matrix just for confessions, because the MIT confessions for MIT people Facebook group was successful while it lasted.

Priority 4 because I really cannot prioritize this among more important things:

1. Making Matrix viable for SIPB to replace Mattermost by bridging Zephyr and people who may still want to use Mattermost
2. Making Matrix viable for classes and clubs through integrations
