Hello there!
I have recently imported twenty years of bookmarks into Linkding, and it's working great, thank you! Many of the pages, however, are not doing well: websites gone, or worse replaced by spam. The Internet Archive has helpfully saved many of them.
I'm here to suggest, if it fits with existing plans, to add an is_dead attribute to bookmarks, and a matching status toggle:
When true, the bookmark title would point not to the original URL, but to its web_archive_snapshot_url. If that is missing, it would fall back to https://web.archive.org/web/<date_added>/<url>, the same "Internet Archive" URL that appears in the bookmark details dialog.
The user or an external tool (like the one mentioned in #68) could then test URLs and update the attribute for failing links, bringing the bookmark list back to life.
