Display Info about Maintainer and Contact Information

If present in the Concept Scheme we could display additional info about maintainers and contact information for a vocabulary.

This will make it easier for people wanting to use the vocabulary to contact maintainers and might also build trust in using certain vocabularies.

Additionally we could add a section in the README about which fields on skos:ConceptScheme are supported and displayed in the rendered vocab.

I took this over some time ago in the SkoHub development meeting to clarify which information to add and how (which RDF properties to use etc).

The general question to answer here is:

What kind of information are needed for people

• encountering in the wild a SKOS scheme published with SkoHub vocabs (e.g. by resolving a URI from some instance data)
• having no prior knowledge about the vocabulary and the responsible parties?

I will start listing some information that comes to mind.

Creator

• A statement on who is responsible for the creation of the vocabulary

Publisher

• Some vocabs already have a dct:publisher statement (see e.g. HCRT and Hochschulfächersystematik).
• However, this RDF statement is neither taken over into the JSON-LD SkoHub provides nor into the HTML presentation.
• Comment: It might make sense to require adding a label for the publisher entity so that it can be sensibly displayed on the web page. In contrast, the examples from above only provide a URI.

Maintainer

• example: for HCRT and Hochschulfächersystematik we record the maintainers with name and link to the GitHub profile like this:

• name and contact options (email, GitHub) should be covered

Contact Point

• In addition to the responsible entities it might be useful for vocab publishers to indicate the preferred communication channel people should use. The READMEs of the already mentioned examples include this.
