main-release is not being updated

Last time it was updated was in Dec 2024.

This was around a month before main was renamed to v1 and v2 renamed to main (Jan 15).

v1-dev-release [1] and v2-dev-release [2] seem to be getting the expected updates.

However, main-release is referred to on https://skupper.io/install.sh. Should that reference be changed to the dev-releases above? For backward compatibility, perhaps have --version main point to v2-dev-release till we get v3? Or to v1-dev-release, which would be weird to explain on --help but more backward compatible (as main never pointed to v2)?

@hash-d Thanks for bringing this up!

TL;DR: I agree with you on associate --version main to v2-dev-release

The release of v2 was for sure a breaking point for the main branch, and currently the main branch is v2, so I think that keeping some references to main associated with the v1 branch may be confusing for users.

I have the impression that users still interested in v1 could install the a specific v1 release (1.X) instead the v1-dev-release, which I reckon is just useful for our team, maybe.
