Improved Reporting Features

Users have requested improvements to the basic reporting features in Autopsy 3.0.6. This issue is a placeholder for people to comment on to list out specific things to change so that others can refer to it for ideas on what to develop.

Wen I work on CP cases I have to search for files, export them, have a report including informations about files, the thumbnails'Files so I hope the report Will work like this
Multi sélection for files in autopsy to tag them
Possible fonction to create global report or report for each tag
Fonction to chose what are the informations to include in report, for exemple thumbnails or not, files dates, metadatas ...or not
And the report is created.
Wen there is a lot of images, I think it s better to chose How many files to include in one html because if not the browser Will not be abble to load it correctly. In a report with lot s of files, it can have a lot s of pages, so they must be linked.

I think this kind of report can match for every kind of cases

Updating this story that will stay open for a bit to collect ideas:

• 3.0.7 provides multi-select.
• Can report only on specific tags.
• We do not show thumbnails though.

Other ideas from #136 included:

• choosing columns to put into report
• Choosing thumbnail sizes

Include thumbnails in the report (3.0.7 link to file)
Include in the report informations about the files (can be selected)

• When working a case and tagging a graphic file, a marker on the image to indicate that the image is tagged such as a flag.
• the function to detag an image in case of an error.
• a gallery view of the images that are tagged per tag type including metadata, file location
• better layout of the registry output for ease of viewing
• printing facility to allow a complete report
