sh unix_setup.sh is not running

when i tried to run this command the following error comes
command not found 5:

Hi. Greetings from Argentina. This is my first contribution here.

Speaking bout the line 22 error you must open the script file with your preferred editor and change "elif" (not the turkey series) for "elseif", an then syntax error is gone!

for the "command not found" messages, I'm still trying to find a workaround... but I'm brand new with programming, and even newer with mac XD

UPDATE: Sept -30-2019 - The Command Not Found error disappears when you remove ALL EMPTY LINES in the script... this is because sh reads empty space in new line as a command that it doesn't recognize...

Anyone has a tip for how to set the JAVA_HOME in mac? this is the only error left... so we can provide a working OSX script.... qapla'!

I managed to fix my issues with unix_setup.sh by using dos2unix.

Try dos2unix -k -o unix_setup.sh. Maybe you'll have success.

That may help you fixing your syntax error (look for a broken if-fi pair)

PS: still try to get the JAVA_HOME working :(

I don't understand your issue with JAVA_HOME. Have you tried to set it in a bash shell or .bashrc file?
e.g. export JAVA_HOME=/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/adoptopenjdk-8.jdk/Contents/Home

@jrlaguirre problem with MacOS is it has apple provided java binaries in the /usr/bin so JAVA_HOME really doesn't work even if set, it still executes /usr/bin/java, however doing as described here: https://blog.jayway.com/2014/01/15/how-to-switch-jdk-version-on-mac-os-x-maverick/ fixes that problem and am now getting the correct java version and works for maltego - yay!

However I still cant get autopsy running properly where its erroring out on start which I think is java FX related - I'm using Zulu.

Can anyone also answer me of how should javaFx be installed for the mac and what versions of autopsy and sleuthkit play well together? currently I'm trying autopsy-4.13.0 + sleuthkit 4.6-7 (as installed via brew)

I'm also assuming that the two java versions must be the same i.e. 1.8.0_222 for JDK and FX?

At this point in time I'm not aware of any recent combination of sleuthkit (installed via brew) and autopsy that work together. The only way I've gotten Autopsy 4.13.0 to run on Mac OS is to build the sleuthkit myself.
I'm working on getting an updated brew formula for sleuthkit 4.7.0 but this has run into issues with the version of Java available on the brew build machines. See Homebrew/homebrew-core#45429.

Regarding getting JavaFX it looks like the most recent version of the adoptopenjdk8 brew formula also gets FX. 'brew cask install adoptopenjdk8' should get you what you need.
