Description
I've typically presumed that just due to the nature of the drainage network and BC's borders, cross border natural barriers are not really a concern in the modelling - but I do not recall ever actually checking.
With a cursory review of trans-boundary stream modelled as accessible to salmon, these streams could be of interest for more attention (for salmon):
SW BC/USA border
Aldergrove/Abbotsford streams that could conceivably have falls/gradient barriers/dams/culverts downstream in Washington:
- Bertrand Creek
- Homestead Creek (seems to be an unofficial name)
- Pepin Brook
- Fishtrap Creek
- Laxton Lake/Judson Lake
BC/Yukon border
- Super Cub Creek looks like it probably has a gradient barrier on the Yukon side
- Plate Creek could perhaps have a barrier on the Yukon side
NW BC/Alaska border
3-4 small streams that may have barriers downstream in Alaska - most of the trans-boundary waterways along this border are major rivers
Columbia
Have not evaluated but presumably modelling of historic salmon distribution in the Columbia could involve many natural barriers in USA
