[Bug]: Linux GPU AMD Radeon RX580 video stream bug

What happened?

Hello! Today I updated Discord through the Snapstore and unfortunately the screen is bugged. It's not my GPU since it was working fine before. I'm using Linux Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS.

I have a similar problem to this one, and I'm on Debian 13. However, it's even worse, and has been slightly shifting and changing since December of last year. Until a February patch, Discord would stream a green screen or malformed screen like yours to my friends, and then crash my entire display server. Kernel logs would show a GPU invalid memory access which causes a panic that nukes my entire display server and restarts it, killing every program and sending me back to the login screen.

In January, there was a period where it would no longer crash my desktop, but it would never successfully send a stream to my friends, it would only send a green screen.

Now, it actually does stream my programs successfully, and it looks perfectly fine on my friends PCs. However, it will eventually crash my entire desktop. The timing of this seems to be contingent on what programs I'm running; I can stream for a little while without crashing if I'm streaming a simple program with basic visual effects, such as a 2d videogame. However, if I try to run a 3d videogame with intense graphics (such as Helldivers 2), it will crash much, much sooner, often within less than a minute. I suspect it's some kind of memory-leak related bug that is escalated by the stress already on the GPU; if I'm stressing out the GPU already, it doesn't have much memory to work with and discord rifles through it rapidly. By contrast, if I am running a simpler game, it has much more resources to squander before it dies so it takes longer.

There are other users with similar problems to what you and I have experienced, and what we have in common is that we're trying to stream over Discord on various Linux distros on an AMD Polaris-generation GPU (such as the RX 580 we both are using).
