Corollary to #1374. We're considering this to focus on the user-visible name of the network, "fediverse," instead of the underlying technical protocol, "ap" for ActivityPub.
This would apply to our default Atmosphere, Nostr, and Farcaster handles.
Changing this for both existing and new users is straightforward on all three of those networks. Handle update (#account event) for ATProto, NIP-05 update for Nostr, fname change for Farcaster. Easier than AP in #1374, and also no same-origin checks to deal with.
Open question whether we'd do it for existing users, or new ones only, or let people opt in.
