Yea, this aspect is a work in progress.

The goal of the code is to match the WebGL spec, and to do so requires typed arrays. These typed array ones here are a standalone version of the same thing - so you should be able to swap them as needed. I haven't had a closer look in a while though.

It is something I was working on resolving and haven't gotten around to an ideal solution yet.
