Build custom database with HMMS directly

Hello,
I am attempting to convert some pre-computed HMMs into a database to perform HMM-HMM comparisons. Doing ffindex_build seems to generate a database but when querying it with hhblits it asks for the cs219 files, which to my knowledge need to be computed from msas. All information on the wiki on building custom databases starts with sequence files or MSAS. Is there a way to generate a database starting from the HMMs?
