Are you sure that your ESP32 sends 5V at the 5V pin. In some board, the 5V pin is not connected: you need to solder a jumper in the back of the board in order to use the 5V pin. |

Hi everybody, I'm struggling to get rdm working so I'm asking for your help here.
First of all I've to mention that DMX works perfectly, this should mean that wiring and code should be ok.
I've stripped down the components using only a esp32-s3 devkitc1 n16r8 board and a common rs485 module based on max485.
More, I'm using platformIO over arduino framework and I'm trying to run only the example named "Arduino_RDMResponder", I've only adjusted pins number to deal with esp board in these 3 lines
int transmitPin = 43; int receivePin = 44; int enablePin = 2;These are the connections:
Sadly, my RDM tester (swisson xmt-350) always shows the "no responders detected" message.
To better figure the problem, I then added a Serial.print in the main loop where rdm packerts are detected:
if (packet.is_rdm) { rdm_send_response(dmxPort); Serial.printf(".\n"); }and I can see the "." printed meaning that packet.is_rdm is properly set but....nothing more than this.
I've also wired an LED in parallel to the DE/RE pin and it shoes activity when RDM discovery unique branch is executing so I guess that the code is trying to respond but content or timing is wrong.
Now, please, I need your help :
Are default RDM responses coded (this is what I've understood) ?
If not, which step am I missing to complete this code ?
Has someone tried this code on S3 series ?
Any advice appreciated !!!
Max
