FlawlessWidescreen not working with git version

Issue Description

I'm using this script to patch the game Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. This works on v12.12 but not on git. I think the issue is the fix for #996; manually reverting the change made in 9366dd4 fixes the problem.

Also of note, sometimes I'm unable to reproduce the issue.

This probably isn't a SteamTinkerLaunch issue but a Proton issue then.

The log you provided is inline text instead of a file, and it is just the log from running --version. Please attach a file when reproducing the problem.

Gotcha. Uploaded a log instead of a details block. Wasn't sure, I sometimes like the inline text better so I don't have to download it.

I see flawlesswidescreen in my processes but it never runs, confirmed when running with games KOTOR and KOTOR II. This is both in and out of gamescope. Let me know the log you want for this?

If it's in the processes but never runs, it sounds like a compatibility issue. Does FlawlessWidescreen still work with Wine/Proton and/or the version you're testing for this?

A steamtinkerlaunch.log file from an execution of the game. You can find this in /dev/shm/steamtinkerlaunch/steamtinkerlaunch.log. However in this instance it seems like a log would not help much. If the process is starting, then SteamTinkerLaunch has done its side of the work. There's nothing much that can be done if the process is starting but not opening.

Wait, I've noted what my issue is. FlawlessWidescreen refuses to render on Proton-GE with PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1. Is it possible to change the launch protocol for fws to add PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0?

Ok, through forcing the entire proton version to experimental-10.0-20250711, I've got everything working now, actually! But fws will not launch within the prefix correctly using customcmd and other stuff like that. Unsure if I'm doing something wrong?
