Add support for GNOME Shell provider, similarly as Wike or Dialect does it:
User will copy-paste or manually type text into search field of GNOME and Eloquent will propose something like "Eloquent: Check text for grammar." or "Eloquent: Check 'copy text from search provider here' for grammar."
Use case here is, that I need to check grammar of some particular snippet of text, but I do not need to do so very often to warrant Eloquent to be opened 24/7, and as result it sits in background apps most of the time.
And because of that, if I need to check text, I do:
- Go to top-right menu, click, click on "background apps", search for Eloquent (if it is even visible, because GNOME backgrounds list is not scrollable and so if there is to many entries, that you effectively can't access some apps there), click, in opened window 3 clicks on text field (to select entire text) or Ctrl + A and after that input text/copy and paste text.
- Press Super, type keyword like "grammar", click on Eloquent icon or enter, select all text (3 clicks or Ctrl + a), start typing or copy and paste text
If search provider had been implemented, it could become:
- Press super, type/copy and paste text, press enter, Eloquent will open (or if window already opened somewhere, then focus on it and insert inputted text. That is how Dialect works) with desired text, or couple Tab presses to select Eloquent if it is not the first one in search provider list.
It will make Eloquent more usable for quick checks and will make it more in line with other GNOME apps, like mentioned Wike, Dialect and even Epiphany.
(and since user can configure search provide in settings, they could move app to be on top of results or completely disable it)
