Why is the worker MPM the default on Debian?

The default MPM on a pristine Debian12 apache2 install is event.

default_mpm returns event for Ubuntu and Mint, but worker for Debian. Why so?

I suspect that was what we found to be the default on the platform at the time. So we mirrored what the provided packages gave us, rather than forcing a unified approach.
