The goal of this ticket is to investigate transforming HST image data into an ASDF format that can be used in the roman pipeline. Once a workflow is designed and tested, we can use well-studied HST data for vetting the romancal code with real-world data.
One complication in my mind is ensuring that the HST FITS WCS solution is correctly propagated to a GWCS object; especially considering complications like distortion look up tables. I also want to make sure that HST ASDF files that are produced includes everything they need for the romancal pipeline.
