Issue loading ZBar native libraries on Win11

everything works
camera works
specter can scan qr codes
bitcoin safe can scan qr codes
any other wallet can scan qr codes
on the same machine

only sparrow cannot scan airgapped wallets, camera does not open with this error message:

Exception java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to load native libraries [in threat "Threat-45"]

the 2 dll files and recommended software are installed but still the same error message when scan is triggered.

having worked for a long time in the software industry and having looked at the errors, i know:
it is most likely a programming bug.
the wallet is programmed in a specific way invoking java for triggering the camera. this workflow terminates in errors.

other wallets like specter or bitcoin safe are programmed in a different way opening the camera without any issues.

the developpers should look at the programming code of the opensource software of specter and the opensource software of bitcoin safe and copy their camera workflow code so the camera will also work on sparrow.

Sparrow v2.3.1 has been widely tested on Windows 11. Your issue is the first report of it's kind.

Unfortunately Github provides open source developers with limited tools to prevent this. They did delete the scammer's post however.

I think it is patently absurd to expect an open source project (which you are using for free) to provide support in less than 24 hours, over a weekend no less. Reconfigure your expectations.

• Are you running from source? Or were you using the .msi install package?
• Please provide any details of your system that may be helpful in tracking down the cause.

A further question - was there anything in the log below the stacktrace you posted above? The actual cause of the error should be there.
