Prepare for 2.0.0a1 release

I've prepared a pull request for the release of 2.0.0a1 at #91.

I'd appreciate a review from anyone. I intend to make a release tonight. I can make additional alpha releases, too, in case I missed anything.

I want to make a final 2.0.0 this coming week.
