What Clarvia Does
Clarvia is a non-profit building free, open-source infrastructure to support families after the loss of a loved one. When a death occurs, families face dozens of urgent tasks across multiple institutions, languages, and deadlines. They must manage documents, notifications, benefits, banking, and cross-border situations while under immense time pressure. Clarvia turns this complexity into structured, source-backed workflows that any family can follow for free.
Our goal is to make practical guidance easier to understand, verify, and access. Clarvia does not replace legal, notarial, tax, or professional advice. Instead, we help families understand what practical steps exist, where official sources are, and when qualified professional help is needed.
What We Build in the Open
We build this as public-interest infrastructure. Everything is public, including our data layer (clarvia-graph), web layer (workflow-web), and our governance and contribution standards.
- Structured Workflow Data: Extracted from official government sources and encoded in validated JSON/YAML schemas with full provenance metadata.
- A Free Trilingual Web Service: Publishing this data as clear, accessible checklists for families in English, French, and German (EN/FR/DE).
- Open Standards & Tooling: Designed for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) and built for reuse across multiple European jurisdictions.
What Your Sponsorship Funds
Sponsorship directly funds the ongoing maintenance work that keeps this public service accurate, independent, and free:
- Source checks, procedure review, and workflow validation against official sources.
- Trilingual translation preparation and review.
- Accessibility compliance, hosting, CI/CD, and infrastructure upkeep.
- Schema development, issue triage, and open documentation.
Guidelines for Sponsors
Sponsors receive our gratitude, acknowledgement, and progress updates. To maintain the integrity of our mission, sponsors never receive influence over guidance, access to user data, referral placement, preferential treatment, or content control. Clarvia’s independence and dignity-first obligations always come first.
Thank you for helping us build open, trustworthy public infrastructure for families losing a loved one.
