I wrote and maintain 30+ Python projects, including some of the most-downloaded developer tools on PyPI:

  • tox: the multi-environment test runner, which I rewrote from scratch as lead maintainer
  • virtualenv: the environment builder under tox and pre-commit, also a full rewrite
  • filelock and platformdirs: dependencies of black, poetry, pylint, PyTorch, and HuggingFace
  • build and pipx: the PEP 517 build frontend and the isolated-app installer

Together they see about 2 billion downloads a month. I maintain them in my spare time, alongside my day job as a senior engineer in Bloomberg's Developer Experience organization. PSF Fellow since 2021.
