Polars code crashing mid-typing

The title pretty much sums it up. I get a polars dataframe, then try to write code
df.with_columns(pl.col("ahe").log())
and it crashes the moment I open the bracket for the log method. See the stacktrace in the screenshot.

Please tell me what additional info I need to provide.

disable calltips should work.

• run with commmand: jupyter qtconsole --JupyterWidget.enable_calltips=False
• or add c.JupyterWidget.enable_calltips = False to your juptyer_qtconsole_config.py

Issues related to this one in ipython (ipython/ipython#15072) and Polars (pola-rs/polars#12394)

Disabling calltips disables a very beneficial tool for the user.

However, acknowledge that it can be tricky to determine where the root cause of this bug lies, between

• qtconsole passing a partially-complete line to oinspect,
• complications from lazy-evaluation of expressions in polars
• oinspect not failing more gracefully
• qtconsole not handling the Exception more gracefully

In the issues of the other repos, the example triggering the issue is as follows:

For example, this partial entry in a qtconsole window triggers an Exception:

Line entry is fine up through naming the method le in this polars.Expr, but the Exception is encountered upon typing '(' in this expression:
