Add a new change that is built on the previous one

I often find myself adding a new change that is an improvement of a previous change (the HEAD or a previous one).
Example: change B is an improvement of A.
Therefore, I copy deploy script deploy/a.sql as the revert of B revert/b.sql and also as deploy/a.sql to start editing it.
Is there a way to do this automatically in sqitch?

Templates are not the solution, as far as I understa them; nor is change requirements.

It could, the only thing I don't like in such approach is the need for tagging. However, I guess I have to get used to.
