Ability to use nix run commands?

I am trying to get this to build without having to download the repository, is there a way to do that?

@srid To clarify i am asking if flake-root is able to manage this situation as e.g. expanding the FLAKE_ROOT variable to github:kreyren/nixos-config/COMMITor solution alike

e.g. current solution:

FLAKE_ROOT can only refer to a local directory (project root). It makes sense to use it in devShells, rather than packages/apps.
