problem 3.4 the recurrence equation

Can you please check that the recurrence for S_i^j is correct? It looks to me 
that it should be 
S_i^j=A[i]+max_{i'<i}B_{i'}^j

Yes, you are right, it should be S_i^j=A[i]+max_{i'<i}B_{i'}^j instead of 
S_i^j=A[i]+max_{i'<i}B_{i'}^{j-1}
