In a local cluster, you do not need to setup an AWS VPC or use kops to launch VMs. You can directly skip to launching pods in the deployment README.

@anakli hello, can give some more detailed procedures about how to deploy the local cluster, i'm the beginner of k8s and have no idea to change the pocketcluster.template.yaml to satisfy the locally deployment.
I will be very appreciate if you can reply me. Thanks very much!
