I noticed DSPy supports freezing modules during optimization. I understand some possible motivations (reducing search space, preserving previously optimized components, etc.), but I haven't been able to find examples, tutorials, or research discussing when freezing is beneficial in practice. Can anyone provide some guidance on the intended use cases and whether there are benchmarks showing advantages of freezing versus optimizing all modules jointly?
Thanks in advance!
