Missing images

I have a really strange error. In my assets directory, there are files which is not visible in the assets file explorer in Statamic CP. However, when I access the assets via shell, I can see them just fine.

When I try to browse the assets folder in a collection, there are files missing as well.

I can access the files directly via URL, so they are definitely there. But I can't edit them by inputting the URL in the CP.

Any clue what could be causing this?

Clear the asset meta cache

Clearing the asset meta cache does not work.

I have narrowed the issue down the folder gets its permission changed when uploading files. If I change the permission back to 775 it seems like working again.

Permission before uploading:
drwxrwxr-x (775)

Permission after uploading files:
drwxr-xr-x (755)
