NPM package out of date

This is the official NPM package according to js/README.md, but it seems this is on version 0.0.0-alpha.2, which was last published 4 years ago. Any plans to update the NPM package?

it would be my pleasure! however, there is some complications: the js port has been donated by a kind contributor, and i think they also created the npm package. i'm not sure but iirc they (before fading back into the background) also added me as someone who can upload new packages, if that is true, then the only obstacle is me - having never touched npm or any js in the last 10-15 years -, being completely ignorant how npm works. furthermore i'm currently working on a tight deadline and have little resources available to pursue any deepdive into "how to release stuff on npm". so the corollary of all this is, if this is urgent, it is best done with a well documented PR and some simple explanation of what (and how) i have to do. would that work with you?
