First of all, wanted to send kudos for creating git-metrics, it's an amazing tool. I really like the year-by-year aspect of the analysis which makes it easier to understand when the repo started going out of control (which the maintainer can then correlate with some things he knows about that happened in a given year). This is much better than just knowing pure numbers without context.
I think from the user perspective, it's always great when finding a tool that does X when the README mentions other similar tools doing X, to give the potential users more info and context, and compare what are the differences and strengths of the current one.
