Proposal

Support ROS 2 Kilted.

Use-Case

Adding support would allow us to upgrade to ROS 2 Kilted, which comes with many optimizations, new features in packages, and improvements to tooling ergonomics.

It would also prevent this package from being seen as "out of date" or "too old".

Anything else?

• For some reason, there isn't a jazzy tag in the git tags. It'd be nice to introduce one alongside any new kilted tag, even if it uses the same ref as humble.
• If you need info on changes made within any dependencies, see the ROS 2 changelog file.
• Kilted is very similar to Jazzy, and it runs on the same Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base.
• Rolling seems to be a supported target version, so, technically, Kilted was already supported... until it released. Then, it became unsupported. 😄
• The online documentation only mentions Humble. Is it out of date?
