THE PAIN: in the corporate events industry you often have this situation where you have an event in some venue and some "remote" speakers might connect to give a speech from somewhere else. In practice you put a couple of cameras with operators, then get a video feed from the video mixer and a video feed from the audio mixer and send them to say zoom. You also have the video and audio output from the zoom computer go to the video and audio mixer.
When no remote speaker is on, you just stream your camera + media PGM plus the same audio you have on the PA to Zoom. When a remote speaker is ON, things are a little different. Say that you have Alice, Bob, Charlie and Director in the Zoom meeting dedicated to remote speakers. Until now, Alice, Bob and Charlie had Director's feed pinned and they are following the event as it happens in the venue.
Once is Alice time to speak, things change a bit. Bob and Charlie would like to see Alice speaking. Alice however, would like to see the venue, because someone might ask her questions or interact with her somehow. On Zoom this works because if Director is pinned and then you pin Alice, Alice will be pinned for everybody else, but Alice, who will keep Director as main view.
On VDO,ninja there's no way to obtain such behaviour.
THE SOLUTION: simply let the director "highlight" a different stream for every guest.
