Audio over hdmi status (18.04)?

Hello,

Does a stock 'stockmind install' have the ability to play audio over hdmi? I see it is still listed under issues for this repo. However I see on reddit that as of 10 months ago Hans' kernel has fixed it (kernel 4.15-rc2 + alsa-lib 1.1.5).

I am running a clean install of 18.04 with kernel and other updates pulled from this repo and am unable to get hdmi working over pavucontrol. Is it possible?

Hey, I'm not sure how to view alsa version (and it would make sense that the alsa version is too low). Running 'cat /proc/asound/version' just gives me 'Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version k4.18.0-rc8-stockmind-gpdpocket.' Could you provide guidance how I can update alsa if needed? (Do I need a different kernel build?)

anyone got a ppa with Alsa-lib (libasound2) version 1.1.5 or later that works with Ubuntu 18.04? It seems like Bionic is stuck at 1.1.3 with not plans to backport 1.1.6 from 18.10 :(
