Hi, i have this storySort

      storySort: {
        order: ['welcome', 'advanced', 'components-deep-dive', 'experiments'],
      },

but when i open localhost or deployed storybook, it opens alphabetically first story instead of Welcome that is the first story due to storySort

Storybook's storySort only affects the sidebar order, not which story is shown first on load. By default, Storybook picks the first entry from its internal index, which is usually alphabetical and does not respect your custom order. This is a limitation in the current implementation.

To make Storybook open your "Welcome" story by default, use the CLI flag:

storybook dev --initial-path /?path=/story/welcome--default

Replace welcome--default with the actual story ID if it's different in your setup. This tells Storybook to open the "Welcome" story on startup, both locally and when deployed. More info is in the CLI options docs.

For static builds, make sure your hosting setup rewrites or redirects /index.html to the root URL or directly to your desired story path, since direct /index.html access can prevent Storybook from selecting a default story as expected. See this discussion for details and workarounds.
