Installing Mwptools on Linux

Hello,
I recently installed debian on my laptop and trying to install mwptools on it, but i stumbled upon dependancies, I am novice to linux.
i used sudo apt install *.deb and it gave me number of dependancies , how can i resolve those?

You neglected to tell me which version of Debian you are trying to use.

The user guide lists the supported Debian versions.

The most likely reason is that your version of Debian is too old.

I downloaded latest one from debian.org , Debian 12.11.0,

Ok, it looks like I need to install Debian Trixie (ver13) which is under testing and not officially released? Isn't it or am am i wrong and 12.11 should also work?

You need a supported OS (version).
Or an OS that can meet the documented dependencies (e.g. Void, Chimera and many others).
You need to select an OS that can meet the dependency requirements. End of story.

i installed Debian 13 trixie rc2 and tried to install mwptools deb pkg but i still got following error, what am i doing wrong?

mwptools: Depends: libpaho-mqtt1.3 (>= 1.3.0) but it is not installable

Your OS does not meet the dependency of the package built on Ubuntu.
You should build it from source.

thank you for pointers, I was able to install mwp now, but for I am getting mac addresses in devices / com ports dropdown , could you tell me how to fix this.

These are Bluetooth addresses.
You can disable automatic BT discovery if you wish.
