Probably me but struggling to use. I have installed all I believe see log file. when I drag the flight log file attached into MWP it plays as before with no controls. When I open with with Interactive Flightlog Player it says invalid file see image. any ideas? Thanks!

Expected behaviour. The Interactive FlightLog only plays formats handled by flightlog2kml.

Yes read this but a little confused. Is it not possible to play MWP logs in MWP? I would think very convenient.

Replaying mwp logs in mwp has been possible since 2015! Just not in the new interactive player.

If somewhat wants to add a facility to decode "mwp (JSON) logs" into the SQLite schema used by the interactive replayer, PRs are always welcome. It is however not on my ToDo list at the moment.

And if the documentation is unclear, then PRs to fix that are very welcome, because documenting a work that the author understands in a way that is clear to others is very difficult. (As the 100+ A4 mwp manual obviously demonstrates).

Once upon a time (c. 2015), when mwp logs were the only game in town (BBL did not exist), there was a ruby script to convert mwp JSON logs into SQLite files (for easy searching mainly).

• That can be revived to convert mwp JSON logs to the SQLite schema used by the Interactive player
• In development branch, it is possible to replay such converted SQLite files directly
• Thus, the following would be possible:

• mwp JSON logs are not that great for this sort of thing as the update rate is low and data can drop out at range
• At the moment the script is not very ergonomic for the non-technical user (ruby language command line script).

Maybe it will be better integrated in the future if I have the time ...

So I did have time ...

• There is now a script to convert mwp JSON logs to SQLite for "Interactive Log replay"
• The development branch of bbl2kml flightlog2kml now natively handles mwp JSON logs, allowing seamless "Interactive Log replay". This also unlocks other goodies linke KML/KMZ generation.
• And why not? Let's also have a "Speed" control on the "Interactive Log replay". development branch as of 2025-07-26.

This is very impressive! Thanks for the effort! I was out flying today and all were impressed with MWP. More users coming I am sure! I will see if I can get this going, I am not very technical but will follow the link...

and as mwp json logs are now supported in [bbl2kml]https://github.com/stronnag/bbl2kml) we can use other goodies like log2mission to extract (a semblance of) the mission file from the log.

Latest variant with no-lag seeking forward and backward, is just awesome! This makes log analysis so much easier. Great addition :)

Yeah, took a little while to evince the best strategy between processing the data / blocking the UI / unblocking the UI.
