just as an example of what isn't supported in the dependency loop by not updating to MACS3 - Python past 3.11. I tried removing the hard require for nothing higher than 3.11, but the build failed. Unfortunately a different tool I need to use also /requires/ 3.13.x, which to me is much worse (requiring a very recent edition??) but even still, it's a fresh install and having to install a lot of different python versions just to use an R tool seems...excessive. |

MACS2 requires cython = 0.29 (which jumped to version 3.0 3 years ago). Cython 0.29 then requires even older items.
Are there any thoughts to a move to MACS3, which came out in 2020?
