Feature: Add Real-Time Audio Visualization Panel

Description

Amplitron focuses on audio-related functionality, but users currently do not have a visual representation of audio activity during playback or processing.

Adding a real-time audio visualization panel would improve user engagement and provide better feedback during interactions.

Proposed Solution

Create an audio visualization component that reacts dynamically to audio input or playback.

To complement the existing spectrum analyzer, the goal is to introduce a Time-Domain Waveform Visualizer (similar to a SoundCloud player layout) and a Circular/Radial Audio Ring.

Unlike a standard spectrum analyzer that shows real-time jumping frequency bars, a waveform visualizer maps the overall amplitude history of the entire audio track over time, which gives a clean overview and helps users navigate through the track easily.

Rough Layout & Design Idea:

• Placement: A dedicated collapsible visualizer panel positioned neatly below or adjacent to the main audio controls.
• Visualizer Modes (Toggleable):
  1. Linear Waveform: A static or scrolling canvas rendering the track peaks, which changes color dynamically to reflect the current playback progress.
  2. Circular Pulse: A minimalist circular ring centered in the panel that expands and pulses dynamically to the bass/low frequencies.
• Controls: A subtle bottom bar or overlay within the panel containing simple customization options (e.g., color themes, a sensitivity slider, and a toggle to switch between the two visual modes).

To ensure high performance and prevent UI lag, this can be built efficiently using the HTML5 Canvas API for smooth rendering. A quick structural wireframe or Figma mockup can be shared next to align on the exact look!

Hi @sudip-mondal-2002! I'd love to work on this as part of SSoC '26.

My Approach:

• Implement a real-time waveform visualization panel in Dear ImGui that taps into the live audio buffer to render waveform data
• Use a ring buffer/circular buffer to store recent audio samples and render them using ImGui::PlotLines for oscilloscope-style waveform display
• Optionally add an FFT-based frequency spectrum visualizer using a fast FFT implementation for spectrum analysis
• Optimize rendering performance to avoid audio thread blocking; ensure responsiveness across various window sizes
