Title and icon of the homepage return button

Problematic behavior
The house icon is not explicit; it would be more visually consistent to use the "All documents" icon instead, which users would find more intuitive.
The label is not the homepage. The homepage to me is the Docs presentation homepage.

Expected behavior/code
Use the same icon as "All documents"
The label should be "Return to all documents"

Impact
The button label must be explicit so that users can navigate the interface. There may be confusion between "homepage" and "all documents".
It is also a cognitive overload.

I'm not sure the icon you're suggesting is clearer than the house icon: the latter is universally recognized as a symbol for Home.

The button's action isn't to go to "all documents" but to go to the Home page. That distinction matters. It's a question of robustness: there will always be a Home. Currently, landing on Home means landing on the "all documents" tab, because that's the default. But if tomorrow the default tab becomes "recent" and is placed above "all documents", users won't be lost — the house icon still takes them Home.

That said, one alternative worth considering: replacing the house icon with a back arrow (pointing left). Thoughts?

I understand what you mean. I hadn't thought about the possibility of adding features.

However, the Docs logo should link to the product presentation page with possibly access to the application's Tips&Tricks (use of shortcuts, etc.). That way it wouldn't duplicate the Docs application homepage icon 🙂

I find it unfortunate that we have to log out to be able to access the Docs presentation page.
