I have some ongoing issues with self-signed certificate generation in the current docker setup. Some helpful folk suggested Caddy might be a good option for a static web server and reverse proxy. The main advantage is ease of configuration. In particular, it automatically generates self signed certificates for localhost and has build in support for Let's Encrypt.
I'll try it out and report back.
