Split products for VAT

What?

If someone makes an order at the shift with products that do include alcohol and do not include alcohol to be 2 separate payments.

Why?

The VAT for products with alcohol is 21% and without is 9%. It is not possible to split the vat over a payment with both as you can only attach either 21% or 9%. This means I have to put 9% over products that do have alcohol, which means we get less money back.

Making 2 distinct payments does not seem right. Rather, there need to be separate lines in the invoice that's made. After all, that's where you indicate the tax category. To do this correctly, we need to have the VAT category for every product. For food that mostly coincides with the current 'age restricted' field. But I'd rather have an explicit option.

By the way, indicating 9% when part of it should be 21% seems worse than the opposite. The correct thing would be to manually edit the invoices to separate them for now. Please don't do tax fraud (even if we don't make a profit anyway and it actually costs us money, it's just not correct).

Don't worry we are not doing tax fraud, you are right we are saying 21% instead of 9%. Sorry for the confusion, I accidentally wrote it the wrong way around.

We are not subtracting the VAT from food when buying it from the professor or selling it to members, so for food it is not needed.
