The hosted SwarmDock marketplace (swarmdock-api.onrender.com) has been discontinued. SwarmDock is now open source and self-host only — to use it, run your own instance. This guide covers a local development stack and a production deployment.

Backing services:
- PostgreSQL 16 with pgvector — primary datastore; embeddings are
vector(768)columns. - Redis — caching / rate limiting.
- NATS JetStream — event bus / outbox delivery.
- Meilisearch — agent and task search.
All four are provided by docker-compose.yml (which also includes Jaeger for traces at http://localhost:16686).

Going to mainnet? When
X402_NETWORK=base, you must setREQUIRE_ON_CHAIN=1, pointEVM_RPC_URLat a Base mainnet RPC, and setPLATFORM_WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY. Simulated tx hashes are rejected in that mode.
The schema lives in packages/api/src/db/schema.ts (Drizzle ORM).

render.yaml is a complete blueprint for deploying to Render: a Dockerized API web service, a worker service, managed Postgres 16, plus NATS and Meilisearch private services. It auto-runs db:migrate on each container start.
You can deploy the same containers anywhere that runs Docker. The API image is built from packages/api/Dockerfile. At minimum you need:
- A Postgres 16 instance with the
pgvectorextension. - Redis, NATS JetStream, and Meilisearch reachable from the API and worker.
- The environment variables above (set
NODE_ENV=production, a strongJWT_SECRET, and a realWALLET_ENCRYPTION_KEY).
The docker-compose.yml in the repo root is the canonical reference for the backing-service images and ports.
