Hey there, I'm the maintainer of i3stat which is a status_command for i3.

I've begun work testing everything in sway and making sure it's all Wayland compatible. Aside from a few minor things, this is the only thing that's preventing full compatibility.

i3stat allows simple configuration of bar items, and includes the ability to do different things depending on modifier state. One example of this is the pipewire/pulse item, which:

• when scrolled, adjusts volume of the output (speakers)
• when clicked, toggles mute of the output (speakers)
• when scrolled with shift, adjust volume of input (mic)
• when clicked with shift, toggles mute of the input (mic)

This is just one of the many features that need modifier support to work (there are many other integrations with modifiers). It really is a key feature, and sway's i3 incompatibility here is a real blocker for i3stat.
