Describe the question

Can I sequentially write files to a USB drive?
I have a slow USB flash drive, and when I try to copy a large number of files, it freezes for an extended period of time. I have tried setting the macro_workers=1, but no effect.

File operation concurrency used to be controlled not just by macro_workers but also affected by micro_workers, but micro_workers has a minimum of 1 and you can't set it to 0 and it also impacts other schedulers like plugins, the fetcher, the preloader, and processes.

The latest nightly removed macro_workers and micro_workers and split them into finer-grained settings in #3661, to get rid of that limitation:

yazi/yazi-config/preset/yazi-default.toml

So now if you set file_workers = 1 only one file operation will run at a time.

Note that file_workers only applies to file ops (copy, cut, etc.), and you might want to disable preview/preloading on your slow device to avoid any other I/O as well
