Listening/quality modes #1

@jmcker

Description

@jmcker

Offer listening/quality modes like:

  • Low latency: Stream audio as quickly as possible. This may increase power consumption and cause some dropouts but is useful when listening to the audio for a video.
  • Medium latency: Balance stream quality and power consumption with speed. If you don't have any specific needs, this is your pick.
  • Higher latency: Don't need your audio right away? Trade a little bit of delay for quality and better battery life.

These could/would correspond to a few different things behind the scenes:

  • AudioContext latencyHint options ('interactive', 'balanced', and 'playback' respectively)
  • HulaLoop/processor node buffer size (small buffer -> large buffer)
  • How often/if we should clear the HulaLoop ring buffer to prevent falling behind
