EAN barcodes are already supported by the scanner, scanning one will attempt to look up the item information from a couple of free APIs. |

What is the problem you are trying to solve with this feature?
The current item creation process is quite tedious. You are required to manually select stuff like the location and guess the asset id, whilst both are available as QR-Codes as well
What is the solution you are proposing?
A barcode-scanner integrated creation process of items. It could start with scanning a not used asset id, automaticallly put input focus on the input field for storage location, which can be scanned as well (Automatically stripping the url parts, if contained in the code) and in the future maybe even integrated with EAN decoders or similar
What alternatives have you considered?
