Connecting multi animal tracks with no overlaps in merged sleap tracking project.

Dear sleap Community,

I would like to merge multiple tracks in a project that has been merged.

I am running sleap inference+tracking in non-overlapping frames and then I merge the results into a single project.
The merged project with disconnected tracks looks like this:

I read sleap is capable of merging also the tracks (--connect_single_track_breaks).
Do you think I can use (abuse) that functionality? (I'm thinking in some kind of jagged tracking)
How are other sleap users approach?

I am thinking how my use case could be addressed.

I would like to ask if there is a way to go from the track to the tracked instance centroid. The other direction is possible.

I wonder if it would be possible to have the Track IDs assigned based on the intrinsic properties/features of the tracked objects (animals).

I think this would allow me to connect the tracks after merging the frames in a single project.
