Develop Prototype 1 #983

Description

@dennyabrain

Problem Statement

A few content creators have mentioned having mixed feelings about their comment section. On the one hand its a source of validation, encouragement and constructive engagement with their followers. On the other hand it can be filled with hateful, irrelevant, spam or repetitive messages. Some creators also mentioned tuning out of a comment section after it reaches a critical mass because its more work to scroll and find interesting comments worth responding to.

Proposed Prototype

There is an opportunity here to offer an enhanced comment section of sorts to creators that helps them engage more meaningfully with their community while also providing them safety features that protects them from harmful or undesirable interactions.

Once a creator has expressed interest to participate in this prototype, we can monitor their channel(s) manually or automatically for new posts. We can acquire comments on the post periodically. Acquisition method is still TBD (being worked out here - #970). Once we have this, we run NLP algorithms to classify the comments into TBD categories. We can then create a digest of some sort that can be vetted by an Uli admin and then be sent to the creator on their email.

Each comment on youtube and instagram has a dedicated URL, which makes linking the comment for action very trivial in the email digest.

Constraints for the prototype

  • Instead of looking at all archival posts on their channel, lets limit to new posts.
  • Lets choose IG and Youtube as channels, since this came up in user interviews.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Create a working prototype that Uli team can use in a self-serve mode with minimal developer involvement
  • @tarunima and @dennyabrain to find atleast 2 creators to onboard on the prototype
  • Implement plausible analytics to measure feature usage
